Pinealon: Metabolic / Longevity research guide

In short: Pinealon (Glu-Asp-Arg) is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator from the Khavinson cytogen family, studied in animal and cell models for neuroprotection under hypoxic and oxidative stress. It is studied in preclinical (cell and animal) research and is supplied strictly for laboratory use, not for human or clinical use.

Not medical advice. Pinealon is a research compound. This guide does not provide dosing, diagnosis, therapy recommendations, or claims about effects in humans.

    What to know first

  • Synthetic tripeptide bioregulator, Glu-Asp-Arg (EDR), from the Khavinson cytogen family
  • The brain- and neuron-associated member of the same programme that produced Epitalon and Cartalax

    What Pinealon is

Pinealon is the tripeptide Glu-Asp-Arg, the brain-associated entry in the Khavinson family of short peptide bioregulators, studied chiefly for neuronal survival under hypoxic and oxidative stress.

One-paragraph overview from our research datasheet. Still scientific, but faster to read than the full mechanism list below.

    Research contexts

Peer-reviewed papers discuss Pinealon in specific lab settings. The points below reflect research questions, not health claims.

Research vs. personal use: Literature describes experiments in cells and animals. That is distinct from real-world use. Our products are for laboratory research only.

    Typical study contexts

  • Mitochondrial stress, NAD+/redox biology and nutrient-sensing pathways.
  • Enzyme activity, gene expression or endurance-style animal readouts.
  • Synthetic tripeptide bioregulator, Glu-Asp-Arg (EDR), from the Khavinson cytogen family.
  • The brain- and neuron-associated member of the same programme that produced Epitalon and Cartalax.
  • Studied in rodent prenatal-hypoxia models for neuronal survival endpoints.
  • Examined for reduction of reactive oxygen species and apoptosis markers in cultured neurons.
  • Why Metabolic / Longevity research matters

Researchers study these compounds for mitochondrial function and cellular energy stress. Ageing and metabolic disease models are common.

    Mechanisms (technical review)

Our datasheet lists mechanistic themes from preclinical work. These are research endpoints, not health claims.

  • Synthetic tripeptide bioregulator, Glu-Asp-Arg (EDR), from the Khavinson cytogen family
  • The brain- and neuron-associated member of the same programme that produced Epitalon and Cartalax
  • Studied in rodent prenatal-hypoxia models for neuronal survival endpoints
  • Examined for reduction of reactive oxygen species and apoptosis markers in cultured neurons
  • Reported in that programme to penetrate cell and nuclear membranes and bind DNA sequence-selectively
  • Behavioural learning and memory readouts appear among the reported animal endpoints
  • Lab handling & preparation

  • Storage: Lyophilised powder: store in freezer (−20 °C), protected from light and moisture. Reconstituted: refrigerate 1–6 °C and use promptly. Short peptides in solution are prone to hydrolysis and microbial growth, so aliquot after reconstitution. Use within the validated stability window for the specific batch.. See the storage guide.
  • Research dosing context: Literature typically discusses 10 mg per preparation is the supplied vial size; published animal protocols report microgram-per-kilogram amounts rather than fixed human masses. Short intermittent courses are the pattern described in the peptide-bioregulator literature The Khavinson-programme literature characteristically uses short courses of small amounts rather than continuous administration, and the animal work reports doses per kilogram of body weight that do not translate directly into a fixed quantity. No controlled human trial protocol for Pinealon is available to describe. These figures describe the research context and are not a dosing recommendation. Material is for laboratory research only.
  • Preparation: Follow the reconstitution guide. Confirm volumes with the calculator.
  • Purity check: Use the COA reading guide and the published Pinealon Certificate of Analysis.
  • Common Questions People Are Asking

What is Pinealon used for in research?

It is studied for neuronal survival under stress — rodent prenatal-hypoxia models and oxidative insult in cultured neurons — with reactive oxygen species, apoptosis markers and behavioural learning and memory measures as the reported endpoints. It also serves as a structure-activity comparator against the other Khavinson cytogens. It is supplied here for laboratory research only and is not for human use.

How does Pinealon relate to Epitalon and Cartalax?

All three come from the same short-peptide bioregulator programme and share its proposed mechanism. They differ in sequence and in the tissue each is associated with: AEDG (Epitalon) with the pineal gland and telomerase research, AED (Cartalax) with cartilage and connective tissue, and EDR (Pinealon) with brain and neuronal tissue. Comparing them directly is one of the more informative experiments available.

How is a three-amino-acid peptide supposed to regulate genes?

The proposal from the originating programme is that peptides this small can pass through cell and nuclear membranes without a dedicated transporter and contact DNA directly, binding particular sequences in promoter regions and altering how much of the associated gene is transcribed. Modelling and binding work within the programme supports it. It is not a conventional receptor mechanism and has not been independently established.

How strong is the evidence for Pinealon?

Weaker than the volume of publications suggests. The animal and cell work is real, but it originates overwhelmingly from a single research programme, appears substantially in Russian-language and regional journals, and has seen limited independent replication. There are no controlled human trials of Pinealon. Treat it as an early-stage research compound rather than a validated tool.

    How should Pinealon be stored?

Keep the lyophilised powder frozen at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. After reconstitution in bacteriostatic water or sterile saline, refrigerate at 1–6 °C and use it promptly — short peptides in solution are prone to hydrolysis and to microbial growth. Aliquot after reconstitution and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles where the protocol allows.

Is this page medical advice? Can I use Pinealon for my health?

No, and no. This article is educational only. We do not provide dosing, medical recommendations, or health claims. Our products are sold strictly for laboratory research, not for personal use of any kind.

Where do I find Pinealon specs, purity certificates and pricing?
